Plants are an essential source for our survival on our planet, it provides us with oxygen and
absorbs the carbon dioxide through the photosynthesis process, as well as its considered a
main factor in supporting the biodiversity of different species that live inside the trees and
natural habitats. Plants also are extremely important for our economy and our mental
well being.
This green color that surrounds us is the sign that life will continue for the next generations,
but currently in the age we’re living, humans are responsible for a natural disaster of cutting
down those plants and eliminating wood. The demand for wood for furniture & construction
materials is increasing. Farmers & pastures are cutting down the woods around the world
creating a likelihood of deforestation & that leads to a major cause of damage to tropical
forests- and that demand is projected to increase over the next half-century.
This activity also leads to minimizing the space for different species to live freely, for
example; a tree is a home for hundreds of insects and food for birds and mammals. Can you
imagine a world of birds, when there’s no trees for them to build their nests and shade against the scorching summer or freezing winter?
Our long term survival isn’t only concerned by providing spaces for different species but also
a range of chemical pollutants can cause health problems in industrial and urban
environments. presence of green spaces are a vital thing and act as a sink for these pollutants,
therefore improving air quality.
Soil quality is an extraordinary thing plants provide for our future, a good soil condition, their
roots & microorganisms that live around their roots is perfect to hold their soil together &
essential in reducing the likelihood of soil erosion. Which creates opportunities for farming
our food ,crops & medicines all along the year. Let's not forget that some medicines are
extracted from plants, therefore our medicine's stability to cure viruses and disease depends
greatly on the existence of plants.
