What is Roof planting?

When you hear the word “Roof planting”, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind?

Well let us guess; a Rooftop filled with the color green, right? Actually what you’re thinking of is partially correct, but let us broaden your aspect of roof planting.

So, Roof planting is basically utilizing any free area inside, outside, or above the house, areas that of course are suitable for planting, windows, balconies, and rooftops are examples. 

Since we are settled with the correct definition of roof planting, let’s discuss the benefits of roof planting. Why should we plant our houses?

 The first reason why you should do so is:

•  To protect the environment, contribute in the global efforts to reduce the negative impacts of global warming

•  To give ourselves and the upcoming generations the opportunity to survive on a safe  and viable planet, if you and everyone else reading this article took the first step and started planting in their houses, we’ll be hoping for a bright future!

• The psychological benefits, studies have shown that views of gardened areas in your house, even for as little as 40 seconds, can improve attention, enhance productivity, increase retention of information, and improve response rates, in short, it’s really effective in improving your mental health.
•  Also, roof planting will teach you how to be patient and responsible, since you plant a seed, take care of it, and wait for it to blossom. 

Last but not least:

•  It’s essential to be aware that in the current global economy crisis, everyone is seeking ways to reduce living expenses, so we’re here to remind you that planting different fruits, veggies, and herbs in your house, will give you a sustainable source of food, and will save you much of the grocery shopping, because most of your needs already exist in your very home.
